Can warehouse storage increase using double reach trucks?
Double reach trucks can increase pallet racking storage by up to 50%; however, it is best for applications that have a high quantity of pallets and a low number of SKUs.
Number of SKUs
Storing product double deep could decrease your selectivity because the forklift operator can’t access the second pallet until the one in front has been removed. For this type of storage to be effective, the pallets will likely need the same SKU. You must also consider if it’s an issue for the second pallet to sit for a longer period of time (i.e. expiring goods).
Common Applications
Double Reach Trucks are commonly used in factory, food processing and general warehousing industries. Common applications are cold storage and warehousing.
